Well obviously my stock came in. I had to wait nearly five months for this to be delivered. Was it worth it? Um, yes. The stock is a drop in fit. No problems what so ever. The green looks amazing. I'm glad I went with the M40 (B&C #1000) type stock. The check weld is outstanding. The hardest part of all this was getting the Tactical Component Mag-Xtender from tacticalcomponent.com installed.

Now I just need to make some time to get behind the scope and start shooting this rifle. Will have an update soon.

Bi-Pod and Butler Caps.

So a little update. I decided to get the Harris Bipod Swivel 9-12 with notched legs. I added the butler Creek Caps to the Bushnell. Starting to look like a shooter. Next up will be the Bell & Carlson Stock.

There are a few sources I'm using to guide me in my project. The internet has been a valuable tool in finding information on how to install, modify, and tactics for the Remington 700 SPS Tactical Rifle. I love forums and they can both be good and bad. They give people with an enormous amount of wisdom and experience to share with novices like myself. They also give people with little knowledge and almost no first hand experience to post about a single experience or something they heard from another person. You really need to research and get to the bottom of a topic. That being said here are a few forums I really love:

www.thehighroad.org  -  This forum is probably one of the best all around gun sites you will find. they have categories for almost any type of rifle, pistol, or shotgun. They have an outstanding moderator staff.

www.thefiringline.com -  Another great all around forum. I have only been there a while, but the members are friendly and willing to share their wisdom freely.

Although not as active as the previous two forums, www.700rifle.com provides people a chance to talk specifically about the Remington 700 platform and accessories.

Along with forums, youtube has very good videos about projects and reviews of rifles and accessories you might want to watch. I found this series by 8541 Tactical very helpful and insightful:

I will have an update soon on my project rifle.
